Target announces the release of media audience study for July 31
The study on the media audience in the DRC 2020 edition will be available on Friday, July 31. For this 2020 edition, which considers the period between 2019 and 2020, some media have increased, others have remained stationary, and others have decreased. A graph illustrating the evolution of the media since 2017 will be included in the report (conventional and pay TV, radio, print, and internet).
The study shows that Congolese are changing their media consumption habits. In 2020 internet use has increased significantly, particularly because of the Coronavirus. While competition in the pay-TV sector has increased subscribers, traditional media still resist this change.
In this study, the Congolese designate the media they use regularly and the languages they prefer to follow these media when and where they follow them. Only results obtained on samples for which it is possible to perform significance tests are compared in the study. Regarding extrapolation, these results are based on Congolese living in the 26 provincial capitals, not on all cities, towns, and rural areas of the DRC.
For this edition of the media study, 1957 respondents constituted the representative sample for this study. The sample's representativeness was ensured by the quota method applied to the following variables: gender, age, occupation, and city of residence.
